Fall semester classes will begin on Tuesday September 2nd. Be sure to have your Gateway college ID which is required to enter the school and parking garage. Other necessities include your class schedule, paper, writing tools, and textbooks. Check the college electronic bulletin board or facebook regularly for updates on faculty out, college closings, college events, and more. Please visit the library and our homepage to see the resources available to assist you while you’re here. And don’t forget the library’s #1 resource – the librarians! Mark your calendars – the first day of classes begins on Monday, August 29th. Here are some important things to keep in mind as you start or continue on your journey to academic success.
1. Are you ready? Have you printed out your class schedule, purchased a flashdrive, notebooks, pens, and any other supplies you’ll need. Being prepared and organized is half the battle.
2. Keep in mind that there may be some bumps along the way the first few days. Try to keep things in perspective and not sweat the small stuff.
3. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. There are many free support services available to you at the college but don’t wait until you’ve gotten too far behind.
4. This is an exciting time in your life. Make the most of it and enjoy the new friends and experiences you’ll encounter along the way.
